**Objective of the Position**
SYCAC is seeking a Finance Coordinator (Acting Finance Manager) to lead and oversee the organization’s financial operations during an interim period, ensuring full compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies, and applicable financial procedures.
The position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of SYCAC’s financial systems, supporting sound financial management, strengthening internal controls, and providing accurate financial information to support organizational planning and decision-making.
The selected candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and relevant departments to ensure efficient financial operations and donor compliance across all active projects and organizational functions.
**Scope of Work**
The Finance Coordinator (Acting Finance Manager) will oversee and coordinate the following areas:
**Financial Reporting & Donor Compliance**
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations and grant agreements
• Support donor financial reporting and project close-out processes
• Maintain organized financial documentation and audit readiness
• Coordinate external audit requirements and supporting documentation
**Budget Monitoring & Cash Management**
• Monitor project budgets and spending trends
• Support budget tracking and variance analysis
• Manage organizational cash flow and payment planning
• Conduct bank and cash reconciliations
• Support financial forecasting and budget utilization monitoring
**Accounts & Payroll Management**
• Process supplier payments and financial transactions
• Monitor accounts payable and outstanding balances
• Prepare and process monthly payroll in coordination with HR
• Maintain complete supporting financial documentation
**Financial Systems & Team Coordination**
• Ensure accurate and timely financial entries and recordkeeping
• Maintain consistency in financial coding and documentation
• Support supervision and coordination of finance team operations
• Strengthen internal financial controls and operational efficiency
**Key Responsibilities**
**Financial Operations Management**
• Lead day-to-day finance department operations
• Ensure compliance with organizational financial procedures and donor requirements
• Maintain accurate financial records and reporting systems
• Support organizational financial planning and monitoring processes
**Internal Coordination**
• Coordinate closely with the Executive Director and relevant departments
• Support financial coordination with programs, operations, HR, and grants teams
• Provide regular updates on financial risks, operational needs, and compliance matters
**Reporting & Follow-up**
• Prepare regular financial reports and summaries
• Monitor project expenditures and financial performance
• Support audit processes and donor financial reviews
• Maintain organized financial archives and supporting documentation
**Required Qualifications**
**Education**
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Master’s degree or MBA is considered an advantage
**Experience**
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in finance within NGOs or humanitarian organizations
• Previous experience supervising finance operations or finance teams is preferred
• Experience with donor financial reporting and compliance requirements is strongly preferred
**Technical Skills**
• Strong knowledge of financial management and donor compliance procedures
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of financial reporting systems and budgeting processes
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
**Languages**
• Fluency in Arabic is required
• Good written and verbal English proficiency is required
• Turkish language skills are considered an advantage
